A Market with a difference … The first Bring & Buy organised for Basketeers on the 27th October 2010 in Dalyellup Community Hall was a resounding success on several levels.

Thirteen Basketeers brought along products and produce to sell, ranging from muffins and koeksisters to vintage saries, handbag trees, books, childrens’ clothing, jewellery, arts and crafts, jams and chutneys, books and art cards.

Money was raised for Cancer Research from door entry and a gold coin collection. Basketeers made new friends, and people ‘made connections’ and ‘started conversations’ – which was the underlying philosophy of this networking event.

As an event to include the local community, everyone agreed that the idea of a craft market with a difference was good and hoped that future events would snowball into bigger fairs with more Basketeers and buyers.
