Contemporary Apartment Hotel in Perth

Apartment Hotel in Perth

Looking for an apartment hotel in Perth that’s conveniently located right in the CBD? You’ll be hard pushed to find something more centrally situated at a great price than the funky and contemporary apartment suites at Citadines on St Georges Terrace.

We enjoyed a staycation here recently with two events in mind – the Travel and Cruise Expo which was being held at the Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre just a hop, skip and a jump away from the hotel, and also the Black Swan portraiture exhibition which was held at the Art Gallery of Western Australia, a 10 minute walk away. Sorted!

We also enjoyed dinner at a restaurant along St George’s Terrace, picked up a bottle of wine and some cheese and biscuits from stores nearby, bought a camera from one of the many shops in Hay Street mall, and enjoyed a very comfortable night’s sleep too – all in 24 hours.

Citadines is positioned conveniently in the heart of Perth’s Business District, a prime location within walking distance to Elizabeth Quay (above) and various galleries, restaurants, bars, department stores and shops in Murray Street and Hay Street Malls.

We loved the funky and functional feel of our apartment. The bed was comfy, the amenities were sufficient, the kitchen area was generous and the bathroom although a bit dated, was both clean and large with a shower and bath.

At reception the staff were really helpful and accommodating, and went out of their way to make sure that we had everything we needed. We made good use of our kitchen, enjoying some cheese and biscuits and a glass of wine before going out to dinner, but when we accidentally dropped the bottle of wine on our kitchen floor (oops, sorry) staff rushed to our aid and were quick and happy to help us clean up.

Citadines offers 85 studio and one-bedroom apartments designed with both the business and leisure traveller in mind. The reception area is cosy but interesting, with a large map of Perth on the wall (very useful), and newspapers available if you’d like to sit and read for a while.

The property’s contemporary features include 24-hour reception, alfresco restaurant and bar (which was undergoing renovations and not open during our visit), access to an offsite gym as well as a business corner, conference room and complimentary wireless broadband internet.

Staying at Citadines means that you’re in a great spot to hop on one of the free ‘CAT’ bus services which stop along Georges Terrace. Jump on a Cat bus to get around the city and see the sites;  including attractions like the Perth Mint, the Swan Bell Tower and the Art Gallery of Western Australia.

The central address is also just a street away from the new Elizabeth Quay (above) with its beautiful walkways and lovely bridge over the Swan River. Here there are various acclaimed modern sculptures, the South Perth ferry terminal, and also waterside bars and restaurants to choose from.
