It’s A Blog and Travel World in Perth

Yesterday was definitely a Zigazag ‘Wish you were here day’ in Perth. First of all I attended the Holiday and Travel Expo at The Burswood Convention Centre and then had a wonderful afternoon gazing over one of the world’s best views up at King’s Park while chatting to a lively bunch of bloggers.

But to begin with, travel. Colourful travel.

The Travel Expo, held at the Burswood Grand Ballroom was bustling with people; a hive of activity with lots of special holiday deals and wonderful ideas for future trips and adventures. Travel consultants, tour leaders and tourism representatives from over 100 different companies were busy giving out brochures and advice, while presentations, videos and cultural shows were staged in separate travel theatres.

For me, being there was like being let loose in a box of chocolates!

Rory Dreyer from Adventure Wild, a Kimberley touring company,  won the award for best Stall.

Denise Johnston from Creative Memories, was showing innovative ways of creating travel books with a story book creator software package.

But there was much much more. I especially liked the idea of the show specials – discounts and special deals a-plenty. Next year I’m going to go much better prepared with holiday dates in order to take advantage of the special offers.

In the afternoon I headed up to King’s Park, where Amanda Kendle had organised a Nuffnang sponsored get together of West Australian bloggers. This was the first of it’s kind in Perth, and it was wonderful to meet like-minded people – all lovely – who chatted about everything from life to love to travel but  most of all we chatted about blogging. And had lots of LAUGHS!

A brilliant day in Western Australia. A hot sunny day in Perth. And I wished, really wished you could have been there too.

The bloggers who attended the King’s Park meet-up have some great blogs. Check them out:-

  4. Thanks for your comment, Samuel. Yes, Blogging is huge on the east coast of Australia with quite a few blogworld events taking place. We are a relatively small contingent of bloggers in Perth on the West Coast, but we are a tribe that’s growing fast and this, as far as I know, was the first real get together this side of the country. Onwards and upwards! Hope you get to attend a blog conference soon.

  6. Thanks for your comment. Yes, we bloggers are a growing breed over here :) and WA rocks, big time.
