Coming Up Events you’ll Love in South West Australia

There’s always something going on in South West Australia and so there really is no reason to sit at home watching TV in your dressing gown during these winter weekends although you could be forgiven for snuggling up at CinefestOz in Bunbury perhaps.

Your coming-up activities could start in Nannup, or further north in Dwellingup, or how about Perth for the fashion shows?

South West Australia

The weather has been chilly, but not that chilly, and to tell you the truth temperature-wise it’s been about the same as a UK summer (I should know) without as much rain. We do need rain – those farmers in the wheat belt are crying out for it.

So without further ado, here are a few events which I’ve cherry picked from a huge array. You might also like to check out the Margaret River Busselton website which has a whole heap of ideas of things to do in the south west especially.

Telstra Perth Fashion Festival

September 15-20, 2015

Perth is fast becoming a fashion hot spot and with iconic events like Telstra Perth Fashion Festival, there’s little wonder why. Now in its 17th year, the Festival sees fashionistas experiencing high fashion events at a range of unique venues. With world-class runway shows, free public events and fashion lunches, the Festival’s line-up keeps getting better.

I sometimes write about fashion on my lifestyle blog, Lifestyle Fifty, so I’ll be going to the Fashion Festial for sure.

Have you got any tips or advice about exciting happenings in your neck of the woods over the next couple of months? It would be great if you’d give them a shout out in the comments section below.

  1. We are planning a visit to W.A next year. The south-west is such a great place for a road-trip.

  2. I love winter for the simple reason that it is not so dam hot to get around. You can do all those activities like hiking, cycling and even just walking without getting too hot and bothered. I would love to be involved in some of these activities in the South West.

  3. It is a great time of year to be active here in this lovely region, Kathy!

  4. SO many things to see and do … I live in hope that we’ll be able to get over to this awesome part of WA, but it’s not turning into one of those years! But that doesn’t mean I’m not keeping tabs on what we’ll miss out on – there’s always NEXT year, right?!?!?!

  5. We have only been to Queensland in Australia. There is so much more to see and do that we can hardly wait to get back!

  6. There’s something for everyone on this list and as always Jo, you introduce me to something I don’t already know. Love the Dwellingup Mountain Bike challenge.

  12. Yes the Bloom festival looks like a lot of fun hey Jill. Will def make a plan to get there too.

  13. I’d love to head south to see the wildflowers this year. To find that elusive spider orchid is always a challenge but it’s alway fun looking for them.

  14. Yes, true Jenny, but as you say the fun is in the journey and the challenge looking for them and discovering other beauties along the way 🙂

  15. Thanks Jo. What a well balanced selection of recommended activities. Sounds like the City to Surf has something for most people. It’s always uplifting to see flowers as shot by Jill. Thanks again.
